A BILL

TO AMEND SECTION 59-65-40, CODE OF LAWS OF SOUTH CAROLINA, 1976, RELATING TO HOME SCHOOLING PROGRAMS, SO AS TO REQUIRE A STUDENT TO ATTEND A SCHOOL DURING THE APPLICATION PERIOD FOR APPROVAL OF HOME SCHOOLING, INCLUDING REQUIRED APPEALS.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:

SECTION 1. Section 59-65-40 of the 1976 Code is amended by adding:

"(F) Nothing in this section exempts a student from the provisions of Section 59-65-10 during the application to begin or continue home schooling. For purposes of this subsection, the provisions of Section 59-65-10 are required of all students during the application for approval for home schooling, including any time required for appeals."

SECTION 2. This act takes effect upon approval by the Governor.
