A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION

EXPRESSING THE SORROW OF THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY AT THE DEATH OF MRS. JOSIE SMITH HAZEL OF AIKEN COUNTY AND EXTENDING SYMPATHY TO HER FAMILY AND MANY FRIENDS.

Whereas, Mrs. Josie Smith Hazel of Aiken County died on January 21, 1991, at the age of ninety-three; and

Whereas, she received a bachelor's degree in science and health education from South Carolina State College and was a member of Friendship Baptist Church; and

Whereas, she was a recognized civic leader in Aiken County, belonging to numerous organizations and contributing greatly in many ways over the years to the quality of life in the community; and

Whereas, she was a much-loved and admired lady who will be missed tremendously. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives, the Senate concurring:

That the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina, by this resolution, expresses sorrow at the death of Mrs. Josie Smith Hazel of Aiken County and extends sympathy to her family and many friends.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to Mrs. Hazel's family.
