A BILL

TO AMEND SECTION 12-37-220, AS AMENDED, CODE OF LAWS OF SOUTH CAROLINA, 1976, RELATING TO PROPERTY TAX EXEMPTIONS, SO AS TO EXTEND THE EXEMPTION ALLOWED FOR THE PERSONAL MOTOR VEHICLE OF A PERSON WHO IS PERMANENTLY AND TOTALLY DISABLED.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:

SECTION 1. Section 12-37-220 B. of the 1976 Code is amended by adding:

"( ) All personal motor vehicles owned either solely or jointly by a person who is permanently and totally disabled as defined pursuant to the provisions of Section 12-37-250 are exempt from state, county, and municipal taxes."

SECTION 2. This act takes effect upon approval by the Governor.
