If enacted, H. 3724, would add Section 40-7-112 to the South Carolina Code of Laws, 1976, relating to persons performing barbering or cosmetology services. These persons may not be arrested for violations provided in the barbering or cosmetology acts. They may be issued a citation and summons to appear in court.
There is no state funding impact.

TO AMEND THE CODE OF LAWS OF SOUTH CAROLINA, 1976, BY ADDING SECTION 40-7-112 SO AS TO PROVIDE THAT A PERSON PERFORMING BARBERING OR COSMETOLOGY SERVICES MAY NOT BE ARRESTED FOR VIOLATIONS OF THE BARBERING OR COSMETOLOGY ACTS AND TO PROVIDE THAT SUCH PERSON MAY BE ISSUED A CITATION AND SUMMONS.
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:
SECTION 1. The 1976 Code is amended by adding:
"Section 40-7-112. No person employed by or working in a barbershop, a place of cosmetology, a beauty salon, a hairdressing establishment, or any other place of business where barbering or cosmetology is conducted may be arrested for violations of this chapter or Chapter 13 of Title 40, but such person may be issued a citation and summons to appear in court."
SECTION 2. This act takes effect upon approval by the Governor.
