A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION

COMMENDING LT. GENERAL CHARLES A. HORNER, CENTRAL COMMAND AIR FORCE COMMANDER, FOR HIS DEDICATION, ABILITIES, AND LEADERSHIP IN BRINGING OPERATIONS DESERT SHIELD AND DESERT STORM TO A SWIFT AND SUCCESSFUL CONCLUSION.

Whereas, Lt. General Charles A. Horner, Central Command Air Force commander, directed the world's most massive air campaign in history during Operations Desert Shield and Desert Storm; and

Whereas, he merged personnel and aircraft from thirty bases in the United States, six Navy carriers, the Marines, and allied nations into a truly seamless theater air force; and

Whereas, he mapped out the most intense, powerful, and precise air assault in history; and

Whereas, his efforts and accomplishments in the Gulf Region War are greatly deserving of recognition. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives, the Senate concurring:

That the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina, by this resolution, commends Lt. General Charles A. Horner, Central Command Air Force commander, for his dedication, abilities, and leadership in bringing Operations Desert Shield and Desert Storm to a swift and successful conclusion.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to Lt. General Horner in care of Ms. Jo Kramer, Sumter County Legislative Delegation Office, Sumter County Courthouse, Sumter, South Carolina 29150.
