A BILL

TO AMEND SECTION 50-17-425, CODE OF LAWS OF SOUTH CAROLINA, 1976, RELATING TO THE USE OF HAUL SEINE IN GAME ZONE 7, SO AS TO REVISE THE REQUIREMENTS FOR THE SIZE, CONSTRUCTION, AND USE OF THE SEINE.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:

SECTION 1. Section 50-17-425 of the 1976 Code is amended to read:

"Section 50-17-425. Notwithstanding the provisions of Section 50-17-420, it is lawful to catch fish in the saltwaters of the Atlantic Ocean in Game Zone 7 with a haul seine (beach seine) having a mesh of no less than two inches stretched (one inch square mesh) nor more than two and seven-eighths inches stretched. The seine must be constructed on no smaller than number nine twisted nylon twine and must not be left in the water more than one hour."

SECTION 2. This act takes effect upon approval by the Governor.
