TO CONGRATULATE THE KEENAN HIGH SCHOOL "RAIDERS" BOYS BASKETBALL TEAM ON WINNING THE CLASS AAA STATE BASKETBALL CHAMPIONSHIP FOR 1991.
Whereas, the members of the General Assembly were delighted to learn that the Keenan High School "Raiders" Boys Basketball Team has recently won the Class AAA State Basketball Championship for 1991 by defeating Riverside High School with a score of 51-42; and
Whereas, this outstanding team combined a record of 22 and 6, never trailed in winning their first championship since claiming the Class AAAA title in 1975; and
Whereas, coached by Ben Trapp, this win eased the disappointment of the previous two seasons when he watched teams fall short of the finals; and
Whereas, with their dogged determination and disciplined style this "Raider" team played better than its opponent in each of the final games of the season. Now, therefore,
Be it resolved by the House of Representatives, the Senate concurring:
That the members of the General Assembly congratulate the Keenan High School "Raiders" Boys Basketball Team on winning the Class AAA State Basketball Championship for 1991.
Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to the team and Coach Ben Trapp.
