A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION

RECOGNIZING MACARTHUR GOODWIN OF RICHLAND COUNTY FOR SIGNIFICANT LEADERSHIP IN ARTS IN EDUCATION AND CONGRATULATING HIM ON BEING NAMED NATIONAL ART EDUCATOR OF THE YEAR.

Whereas, MacArthur Goodwin, of Richland County, is a leader in arts education in the State and nation; and

Whereas, MacArthur Goodwin has recently received the National Art Education Association's National Art Educator of the Year Award which is national recognition of his great achievement and contribution to arts education leadership; and

Whereas, Mr. Goodwin has an exemplary record of volunteerism in education and art education and has been honored with the Verner Award, the State's highest award for contribution to the arts. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives, the Senate concurring:

That the members of the General Assembly acknowledge MacArthur Goodwin's significant leadership in arts and education and congratulate him on being named National Art Educator of the Year.
