A BILL

TO AMEND SECTION 44-56-20, CODE OF LAWS OF SOUTH CAROLINA, 1976, RELATING TO DEFINITIONS FOR PURPOSES OF THE SOUTH CAROLINA HAZARDOUS WASTE MANAGEMENT ACT, SO AS TO PROVIDE THAT HAZARDOUS WASTE INCLUDES ALL WASTE DISPOSED OF IN A LAND DISPOSAL SITE PERMITTED TO RECEIVE HAZARDOUS WASTE.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:

SECTION 1. Section 44-56-20(6) of the 1976 Code is amended by adding at the end:

"All waste disposed of in a land disposal site permitted to receive hazardous waste for disposal is considered hazardous waste."

SECTION 2. This act takes effect upon approval by the Governor.
