A BILL

TO PROVIDE THAT BEGINNING WITH THE 1992 GENERAL ELECTION AND THEREAFTER, ALL COUNTIES MUST USE AUTOMATED OR ELECTRONIC VOTING SYSTEMS AND MAY NOT USE PAPER BALLOTS EXCEPT FOR ABSENTEE OR CONTESTED BALLOTS.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:

SECTION 1. Notwithstanding any other provision of law, beginning with the 1992 general election and thereafter, all counties must use automated or electronic voting systems and may not use paper ballots except for absentee or contested ballots.

SECTION 2. This act takes effect upon approval by the Governor.
