A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION

TO CONGRATULATE THE MACEDONIA HIGH SCHOOL BOYS VARSITY BASKETBALL TEAM IN BERKELEY COUNTY UPON WINNING ITS SECOND CONSECUTIVE BOYS CLASS AA STATE BASKETBALL TITLE.

Whereas, the Macedonia High School Boys Varsity Basketball Team in Berkeley County won its second consecutive Boys Class AA State Basketball title; and

Whereas, Macedonia Coach Ken Green led his team to a 90-80 win over Greenville Southside at Frank McGuire Arena in his second year as coach; and

Whereas, "Our kids were determined to win another state championship," Coach Green said. "I thought our full-court defense was the difference in the game. It might not have worked for us all game, but I thought it wore them down;" and

Whereas, the Foxes beat Chapman, 56-51, in last year's state title game. "I can't tell you how proud I am of these kids," Green said. "No one gave them much respect even after we won it last year. I think most people felt it was a fluke last year, and our kids wanted to prove them wrong,"; and

Whereas, the members of the General Assembly wish to recognize the spirit and talent on this basketball team. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives, the Senate concurring:

That the members of the General Assembly congratulate the Macedonia High School Boys Varsity Basketball Team in Berkeley County upon winning its second consecutive Boys Class AA State Basketball title.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to Coach Green.
