A HOUSE RESOLUTION

TO CONGRATULATE THE UNITED STATES MARINE CORPS RECRUIT TRAINING DEPOT AT PARRIS ISLAND IN BEAUFORT COUNTY UPON BEING CHOSEN THE 1990 RECIPIENT OF THE "COMMANDER IN CHIEF'S AWARD FOR INSTALLATION EXCELLENCE".

Whereas, the members of the General Assembly were delighted to learn that the United States Marine Corps Recruit Training Depot at Parris Land in Beaufort County was chosen the 1990 recipient of the "Commander in Chief's Award for Installation Excellence"; and

Whereas, this is the second consecutive year installations in Beaufort County have won the award, last year the Marine Corps Air Station Beaufort earned the honors; and

Whereas, the United States Defense Department chose Parris Island over twenty-two other Marine Corps installations for its emphasis on quality management; and

Whereas, the chief reasons Parris Island received the award were successfully integrating and improving recruiting, recruit training, commercial activities contracting, and automation. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives:

That the members of the General Assembly congratulate the United States Marine Corps Recruit Training Depot at Parris Island in Beaufort County on being chosen the 1990 recipient of the "Commander in Chief's Award for Installation Excellence".
