A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION

EXPRESSING THE SORROW OF THE MEMBERS OF THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY AT THE DEATH OF DANIEL T. MATHIS OF AIKEN COUNTY AND EXTENDING SYMPATHY TO HIS FAMILY AND MANY FRIENDS.

Whereas, Daniel Tucker Mathis of North Augusta, conservation commissioner emeritus of the Aiken Conservation District, died in September, 1991, at the age of ninety-four; and

Whereas, Mr. Mathis was a retired dairy farmer, a World War I Army veteran, and a graduate of Clemson; and

Whereas, he received numerous professional honors and awards during his long and distinguished career and was past chairman of the Aiken Conservation District and of the South Carolina Land Resources Conservation Commission; and

Whereas, he was an outstanding individual who meant much to his community and the State, and we want the members of his family and his many friends to know that they have our deepest sympathy. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives, the Senate concurring:

That the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina, by this resolution, expresses sorrow at the death of Daniel T. Mathis of Aiken County and extends sympathy to his family and many friends.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to the family of Mr. Daniel T. Mathis at 930 Edgefield Road, North Augusta, South Carolina 29841.
