A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION

EXPRESSING THE SORROW OF THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY AT THE DEATH OF MARGARET J. WESTON OF AIKEN COUNTY AND EXTENDING SYMPATHY TO HER FAMILY AND MANY FRIENDS.

Whereas, Margaret J. Weston of Aiken County died in the Fall of 1991; and

Whereas, Mrs. Weston was born in St. Louis, Missouri, and graduated from a nursing school there; and

Whereas, she earned a B.S. degree in nursing from Loyola University in Chicago and an M.S. degree in nursing from the University of Chicago; and

Whereas, she was the founder of the Margaret J. Weston Health Center, where approximately four hundred persons a week receive medical and dental care; and

Whereas, this outstanding facility and its satellite centers have been the primary source of health care for many individuals in the Horse Creek Valley area; and

Whereas, she was dedicated to bringing health care to the people of her community -- particularly the needy; and

Whereas, she was a dynamic lady whose many gifts and talents will be greatly missed; and

Whereas, we want her family and may friends to know that they are in our thoughts and have our deepest sympathy. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives, the Senate concurring:

That the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina, by this resolution, expresses sorrow at the death of Margaret J. Weston of Aiken County and extends sympathy to her family and many friends.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to Mrs. Weston's family.
