A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION

TO CONGRATULATE ONE OF THIS STATE'S MOST OUTSTANDING HEALTH CARE EXECUTIVES, D. KIRK OGLESBY, JR., UPON HIS ELECTION AS CHAIRMAN OF THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE AMERICAN HOSPITAL ASSOCIATION.

Whereas, D. Kirk Oglesby, Jr., has distinguished himself as an outstanding health care leader throughout his thirty-six years as a health care executive; and

Whereas, Mr. Oglesby served as President of Anderson Memorial Hospital for twenty-five years and led the hospital to recognition as a fully accredited hospital with commendation, a distinction reserved for the top ten percent of hospitals in the Nation; and

Whereas, as a tribute to the tremendous respect he has earned within the national health care community, he has been selected to serve on and chair several state and national health care policy boards; and

Whereas, in honor of his outstanding contributions to the health care community in South Carolina, he was awarded the Distinguished Service Award in 1983 by the South Carolina Hospital Association, the highest honor awarded by that group; and

Whereas, in honor of his continued commitment to improving health care throughout the Nation, he was elected as Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the American Hospital Association, one of the major health care policy organizations in the country. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives, the Senate concurring:

That the members of the General Assembly congratulate D. Kirk Oglesby, Jr., upon his election to the chairmanship of the Board of Trustees of the American Hospital Association.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to Mr. Oglesby.
