TO AMEND THE CODE OF LAWS OF SOUTH CAROLINA, 1976, BY ADDING SECTION 59-125-5 SO AS TO CHANGE WINTHROP COLLEGE TO WINTHROP UNIVERSITY, EFFECTIVE JULY 1, 1992.
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:
SECTION 1. The 1976 Code is amended by adding:
"Section 59-125-5. (A) Winthrop College is changed to Winthrop University, effective July 1, 1992.
(B) In addition to other provisions of law applicable to Winthrop College, it and its board must specifically comply with the provisions of Sections 59-103-35 and 59-103-60."
SECTION 2. The Code Commissioner is directed to change all references in the 1976 Code from Winthrop College to Winthrop University.
SECTION 3. This act takes effect upon approval by the Governor.
