TO EXTEND HEARTFELT SYMPATHY TO THE FAMILY OF CORPORAL LEROY MALLETT DANTZLER OF MANNING, SOUTH CAROLINA.
Whereas, Corporal Leroy Mallett Dantzler was born in Orangeburg, South Carolina, on August 29, 1959, the son of Mr. Leroy Mickey Dantzler and the late Mrs. Mae Alice Mallett Dantzler;
Whereas, on December 11, 1991, Mr. Dantzler died; and
Whereas, Mr. Dantzler, a graduate of Manning High School, received his B.S. degree in Criminal Justice from Benedict College and served as a Senate page while attending Benedict College; and
Whereas, he graduated from the South Carolina Criminal Justice Academy where he formerly served as an instructor; and
Whereas, Mr. Dantzler began his career as a Conservation Officer with the South Carolina Wildlife and Marine Resources Department in Clarendon County; and
Whereas, Mr. Dantzler was a member of Brotherly Love Lodge No. 99, F & AM, New Light Chapter 254, Order of Eastern Star, Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc., and the Manning Branch of the NAACP; and
Whereas, he was a member of the board of trustees of the Providence African Methodist Episcopal Church; and
Whereas, Mr. Dantzler was associated with many activities, received many awards and trophies in law enforcement, and was a dedicated man who devoted his life to the challenge of helping others; and
Whereas, the members of the General Assembly share in his family's sorrow. Now, therefore,
Be it resolved by the House of Representatives, the Senate concurring:
That the members of the General Assembly extend their heartfelt sympathy to the family of Corporal Leroy Mallett Dantzler of Manning, South Carolina.
Be it further resolved that copies of this resolution be forwarded to his father, Mr. Leroy Mickey Dantzler, to his beloved aunts, and to his cousin, The Honorable Mitchell Ellerby, member of the House of Representatives of Mississippi.
