A BILL

TO AMEND THE CODE OF LAWS OF SOUTH CAROLINA, 1976, BY ADDING SECTION 11-35-80 SO AS TO PROHIBIT A GOVERNMENTAL BODY FROM PURCHASING A MOTOR VEHICLE MANUFACTURED BY A COMPANY WHICH HAS MORE THAN FIFTY PERCENT OF ITS MANUFACTURING FACILITIES LOCATED OUTSIDE OF THIS COUNTRY.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:

SECTION 1. The 1976 Code is amended by adding:

"Section 11-35-80. No governmental body may purchase a motor vehicle manufactured by a company which has more than fifty percent of its manufacturing facilities located outside of this country."

SECTION 2. This act takes effect upon approval by the Governor.
