A BILL

TO AMEND SECTION 42-1-360, CODE OF LAWS OF SOUTH CAROLINA, 1976, RELATING TO EXEMPTIONS FROM THE WORKERS' COMPENSATION LAW, SO AS TO PROVIDE AN EXEMPTION FOR EMPLOYMENT THAT PROVIDES ON-THE-JOB ACCIDENT INSURANCE FOR ITS EMPLOYEES WITH MINIMUM COVERAGE REQUIREMENTS INCLUDED.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:

SECTION 1. Section 42-1-360 of the 1976 Code is amended by adding:

"(6) Employment that provides on-the-job accident insurance for its employees with minimum coverage of:

(a) one hundred thousand dollars accidental death and dismemberment;

(b) one hundred thousand dollars excess accident medical expenses;

(c) an income benefit of seventy percent of the employee's salary up to four hundred thirty dollars a week after a seven-day waiting period and payable for fifty-two weeks."

SECTION 2. This act takes effect upon approval by the Governor.
