TO APPROVE REGULATIONS OF THE BOARD OF FUNERAL SERVICES, RELATING TO EXAMINATIONS, CONTINUING EDUCATION, AND RECIPROCITY, DESIGNATED AS REGULATION DOCUMENT NUMBER 1386, PURSUANT TO THE PROVISIONS OF ARTICLE 1, CHAPTER 23, TITLE 1 OF THE 1976 CODE.
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:
SECTION 1. The regulations of the Board of Funeral Services, relating to examinations, continuing education, and reciprocity, designated as Regulation Document Number 1386, and submitted to the General Assembly pursuant to the provisions of Article 1, Chapter 23, Title 1 of the 1976 Code, are approved.
SECTION 2. This joint resolution takes effect upon approval by the Governor.
SUMMARY AS SUBMITTED BY PROMULGATING AGENCY.
The South Carolina State Board of Funeral Services submits the following regulations for consideration which address its continuing education program, specifically in the areas of active and inactive status, reciprocity, and disability or illness; deleting the existing requirements in board regulations 57-8, 57-9 and 57-10 which require applicants for funeral director and embalmer to take an oral examination to be administered by the board; and to delete Regulation R.57-11, which does not recognize reciprocity, and adding a provision to acknowledge reciprocity.
