A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION

TO CONGRATULATE THE RESCUE 11 EMERGENCY MEDICAL SERVICES SQUAD OF LANDRUM ON WINNING THE STATE EMERGENCY MEDICAL SERVICES SYSTEM OF THE YEAR AWARD.

Whereas, the Rescue 11 Emergency Medical Services Squad of Landrum won the state Emergency Medical Services System of the Year Award; and

Whereas, the award is sponsored by the South Carolina EMS Symposium; and

Whereas, the Landrum Rescue 11 Squad is a volunteer squad with fourteen members; and

Whereas, it was the squad's ability to have a fully trained paramedic available at all times, and the group's involvement in the community that helped it win the award; and

Whereas, the volunteers put in extra effort for the community including sponsoring the town's annual Christmas Parade and working with local schools and civic clubs on CPR and first aid instruction; and

Whereas, the Landrum squad placed first among state squads handling fifteen hundred calls a year or less. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives, the Senate concurring:

That the members of the General Assembly congratulate the Rescue 11 Emergency Medical Services Squad of Landrum on winning the state Emergency Medical Services System of the Year Award.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to Captain Bruce Cogdell and the squad.
