A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION

CONGRATULATING THE HONORABLE MARGARET D. JACKSON, CLARENDON COUNTY TREASURER, ON HER SELECTION AS PRESIDENT OF THE SOUTH CAROLINA ASSOCIATION OF AUDITORS, TREASURERS AND TAX COLLECTORS, AND WISHING HER CONTINUED SUCCESS IN ALL OF HER ENDEAVORS.

Whereas, the Honorable Margaret D. Jackson is a beloved and respected public servant who has given over a decade of her life in office serving the citizens of Clarendon County as the county treasurer; and

Whereas, she commands the respect and admiration not only of those who have elected her time and time again in Clarendon County but also of her peers throughout the State of South Carolina and of the State's constitutional officers with whom she works on a daily basis; and

Whereas, she has modernized and developed the treasurer's office and made her office a model for good government in South Carolina; and

Whereas, she comes from a family background of extensive experience in financial matters and fiscal integrity as the daughter of the late Honorable Robert Durant, an outstanding individual who served for many years as the president of the Bank of Clarendon; and

Whereas, she grew up to respect and practice fiscal responsibility and put this standard into practice very successfully as Clarendon County Treasurer; and

Whereas, she has been chosen to head the South Carolina Association of Auditors, Treasurers and Tax Collectors by serving as the association's president -- a very high honor which is greatly deserving of recognition. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives, the Senate concurring:

That the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina, by this resolution, congratulates the Honorable Margaret D. Jackson, Clarendon County Treasurer, on her selection as president of the South Carolina Association of Auditors, Treasurers and Tax Collectors and wishes her continued success in all of her endeavors.
