A JOINT RESOLUTION TO DIRECT THE DEPARTMENT OF HIGHWAYS AND PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION TO REQUIRE THAT ASPHALT USED IN PROJECTS APPROVED BY BID BY THE DEPARTMENT MAY INCLUDE RIVER GRAVEL UNLESS PROHIBITED BY FEDERAL STATUTE OR FEDERAL REGULATION.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:

Asphalt used in projects may include river gravel; exception

SECTION 1. The South Carolina Department of Highways and Public Transportation shall require that asphalt used in projects approved by bid by the department may include river gravel, unless prohibited by federal statute or federal regulation.

Time effective

SECTION 2. This joint resolution is effective for one year upon approval of the Governor.
