A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION

TO CONGRATULATE SHAWN GRAVES OF SPARTANBURG ON BEING NAMED SOUTH CAROLINA MALE AMATEUR ATHLETE OF THE YEAR.

Whereas, Shawn Graves of Spartanburg is a quarterback for Wofford College; and

Whereas, he led the Wofford Terriers to a 9-2 record, rushing 1,331 yards and scoring 20 touchdowns last season; and

Whereas, as an option quarterback, Graves set an all-time NCAA record for rushing yardage by a quarterback with 4,138 yards to go with 61 career touchdowns and he has one more season to play; and

Whereas, Graves has a total of 5 NCAA records and has tied or set 16 school records in a two-year campaign; and

Whereas, Graves finished third in national voting for the Harlon Hill Trophy; and

Whereas, Shawn Graves was named South Carolina Male Amateur Athlete of the Year by the South Carolina Athletic Hall of Fame for the second straight year. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives, the Senate concurring:

That the members of the House of Representatives congratulate Shawn Graves of Spartanburg for being named South Carolina Male Amateur Athlete of the Year.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to Mr. Graves.
