A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION

COMMENDING OLLIE S. MCALISTER OF JASPER COUNTY FOR TEN YEARS OF DEVOTED AND OUTSTANDING PUBLIC SERVICE AS DIRECTOR OF THE JASPER COUNTY DEPARTMENT OF SOCIAL SERVICES AND EXTENDING BEST WISHES FOR HAPPINESS FOLLOWING HER RETIREMENT.

Whereas, Ollie S. McAlister of Jasper County has served as director of the Jasper County Department of Social Services since 1982; and

Whereas, Ms. McAlister previously served as counselor for Beaufort-Jasper EOC, Inc. Neighborhood Youth Corps from 1966-69, director of Beaufort-Jasper EOC, Inc. Neighborhood Youth Corps-CETA from 1969-82, and as teacher-Jasper County Department of Education from 1949-66; and

Whereas, she is a dynamic individual who has received many honors and awards over the years and has given freely and generously of her time, talents, and energy to countless causes and persons; and

Whereas, the motto of this outstanding lady is "If I Can Help Somebody As I Pass Along, Then My Living Shall Not Be In Vain", and this has been reflected in everything she has done in her professional and personal life; and

Whereas, Ms. McAlister is retiring this year from her post as director of the Jasper County Department of Social Services, and it is felt that her years of exemplary service are greatly deserving of recognition. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives, the Senate concurring:

That the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina, by this resolution, commends Ollie S. McAlister of Jasper County for ten years of devoted and outstanding public service as director of the Jasper County Department of Social Services and extends best wishes to her for happiness following her retirement.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to Ms. McAlister.
