A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION

CONGRATULATING THE LEXINGTON HIGH SCHOOL BAND FOR WINNING THE STATE MARCHING BANDS COMPETITION FOR THE SECOND YEAR IN A ROW.

Whereas, the Lexington High School Band won the state championship for marching bands in the Fall of 1990, beating nine other bands in the AAAAA category in competition at Irmo High School; and

Whereas, in winning this honor, the Lexington Band clinched its second consecutive state crown in the South Carolina Band Directors Association State Marching Competition Finals; and

Whereas, this achievement is outstanding and is greatly deserving of recognition. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the Senate, the House of Representatives concurring:

That the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina, by this resolution, congratulates the Lexington High School Band for winning the state marching bands competition for the second year in a row.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to the Lexington High School Band, in care of Mr. Dan Ward, band director, at Lexington High School, Lexington, South Carolina..
