A SENATE RESOLUTION

TO MANDATE THAT THE SENATE CHAMBER BE USED FOR SENATE BUSINESS ONLY AS OF JANUARY 21, 1991.

Whereas, the Senate Invitations Committee has determined that it is of great importance to preserve, protect, and respect the Senate Chamber; and

Whereas, unfortunately, there have been incidents in the Senate Chamber that have raised concerns over the propriety of allowing use of the chamber by outside groups and organizations; and

Whereas, the Senate Invitations Committee voted on January 15, 1991, to restrict the use of the Senate Chamber to Senate matters. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the Senate:

That the use of the Senate Chamber be restricted as of January 21, 1991, to statewide sessions of the Senate, to use by the committees of the Senate as the Senate by resolution may authorize, or to such incidental use by individuals or tour groups as may be authorized by the Clerk of the Senate.
