A BILL

TO AMEND SECTION 16-23-210, CODE OF LAWS OF SOUTH CAROLINA, 1976, RELATING TO CERTAIN DEFINITIONS IN REGARD TO THE REGULATION OF FIREARMS, SO AS TO REVISE THE DEFINITION OF A "MILITARY FIREARM".

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:

SECTION 1. Section 16-23-210(g) of the 1976 Code is amended to read:

"(g) `Military firearm' means any a military weapon, firearm, or destructive device, other than a machine gun, that launches grenades and is manufactured for military use by a firm licensed by the federal government pursuant to a contract with the federal government."

SECTION 2. This act takes effect upon approval by the Governor.
