A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION

COMMENDING MS. JO ANNE MORRIS OF SUMTER COUNTY FOR HER LEADERSHIP AND CONSIDERATION OF OTHERS IN ORGANIZING VOLUNTEERS TO MEET THE NEEDS OF AIR FORCE FAMILIES DURING OPERATIONS DESERT SHIELD AND DESERT STORM.

Whereas, Ms. Jo Anne Morris of Sumter County singlehandedly organized volunteers to be available to meet the essential needs of Air Force families while Operations Desert Shield and Desert Storm were raging; and

Whereas, through Volunteer Sumter Ms. Morris not only saw to the physical needs of these families, she also had red, white, and blue patriotic decorations made for people, homes, and street signs in Sumter; and

Whereas, she undertook decorations for President Bush's visit at the Sumter Memorial Stadium; and

Whereas, her thoughtfulness, drive, leadership, and patriotism in all that she has contributed toward a spirit of unity in the Sumter area are highly deserving of recognition. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the Senate, the House of Representatives concurring:

That the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina, by this resolution, commends Ms. Jo Anne Morris of Sumter County for her leadership and consideration of others in organizing volunteers to meet the needs of Air Force families during Operations Desert Shield and Desert Storm.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to Ms. Morris in care of Ms. Jo Kramer, Sumter County Legislative Delegation Office, Sumter County Courthouse, Sumter, South Carolina 29150.
