A BILL

TO AMEND THE CODE OF LAWS OF SOUTH CAROLINA, 1976, BY ADDING SECTION 8-11-310 SO AS TO PROVIDE A PREFERENCE FOR QUALIFIED APPLICANTS WITH DISABILITIES IN HIRING UNDER THE STATE CLASSIFICATION AND COMPENSATION PLAN.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:

SECTION 1. Article 3, Chapter 11, Title 8 of the 1976 Code is amended by adding:

"Section 8-11-310. The Division of Human Resource Management of the State Budget and Control Board shall develop and implement a plan of preference for qualified applicants with disabilities in hiring pursuant to the State Classification and Compensation Plan."

SECTION 2. This act takes effect upon approval by the Governor.
