A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION

EXPRESSING THE SYMPATHY OF THE MEMBERS OF THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY TO THE FAMILY AND MANY FRIENDS OF THE LATE ALBERT FOSTER WELCH, SR., OF LEESVILLE.

Whereas, the members of the General Assembly were saddened to learn of the death of Albert Foster Welch, Sr., of Leesville, who died Sunday, March 10, 1991; and

Whereas, Mr. Welch, born in Lexington County, was the son of the late James Henry and Daisy Roof Welch; and

Whereas, Mr. Welch was a firefighter at Fort Jackson, a retired salesman with Liberty Life Insurance Company, a founder of Boy Scout Troop 474, a member of Pauline Church of Christ, Springdale Masonic Lodge 412, West Columbia Quartet, and was chairman of the Republican Party of Fairview Precinct; and

Whereas, it is appropriate for members of the General Assembly to pause in their deliberations to note the passing of so distinguished a servant of their State and community and to express their sympathy to his family and many friends. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the Senate, the House of Representatives concurring:

That the members of the General Assembly express their sympathy to the family and many friends of the late Albert Foster Welch, Sr., of Leesville.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to his widow, Mrs. Elva Padgett Welch.
