A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION

RECOGNIZING DR. CHRISTIE W. WINKLER FOR HIS SACRIFICE AND GALLANT ANSWERING OF HIS COUNTRY'S CALL TO WAR AND TO WELCOME DR. WINKLER HOME FROM SAUDI ARABIA.

Whereas, Dr. Christie W. Winkler proudly serves his country as a commander in the United States Navy Reserve; and

Whereas, Dr. Winkler closed his medical practice in Anderson in order to answer his country's call to duty; and

Whereas, Dr. Winkler endured five months in the Saudi Desert as the regimental surgeon for the 24th Marine Regiment out of Kansas City; and

Whereas, Dr. Winkler has sacrificed much to ensure that the men and women of the United States Armed Forces have outstanding medical care available. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the Senate, the House of Representatives concurring:

That the members of the General Assembly proudly recognize Dr. Winkler's sacrifice and gallant answering of his country's call to war and gladly welcome Dr. Winkler home from Saudi Arabia.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to Dr. Winkler.
