A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION

TO EXPRESS THE GRATITUDE OF THE MEMBERS OF THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY TO THE MEMBERS OF THE LEGISLATIVE GOVERNOR'S COMMITTEE ON MENTAL HEALTH AND MENTAL RETARDATION CITIZENS' PANEL ON MENTAL HEALTH FOR THEIR DEDICATED SERVICE.

Whereas, the members of the Legislative Governor's Committee on Mental Health and Mental Retardation Citizens' Panel on Mental Health have spent many hours working on the problems facing South Carolinians in need of mental health services; and

Whereas, these members volunteered their time and knowledge in an attempt to improve the quality of life for those with mental health difficulties; and

Whereas, the members who contributed so tirelessly to the mental health cause are: Lenord O. "Mick" Henry, Executive Director of the South Carolina Mentor, former executive assistant at the South Carolina Continuum of Care for Emotionally Disturbed Children, and a retired air force officer; Dr. Don Bray, a psychiatrist, visiting scholar at the State Department of Mental Health, and former Commissioner of the Department of Mental Health in Oregon; Jay Bender, an attorney in Columbia with the firm of Belser, Barker, Barwick, Ravenel, and Bender; Dr. Michael Lampkin, a psychiatrist in private practice in Charleston; and Senator Thomas Smith, an attorney in Pamplico with the firm of Smith and Floyd. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the Senate, the House of Representatives concurring:

That the members of the General Assembly express their gratitude to the members of the Legislative Governor's Committee on Mental Health and Mental Retardation Citizens' Panel on Mental Health for their dedicated service.

Be it further resolved that copies of this resolution be forwarded to the members of the Legislative Governor's Committee on Mental Health and Mental Retardation Citizens' Panel on Mental Health.
