A BILL

TO AMEND ACT 254 OF 1957, RELATING TO THE FILING OF A NOTICE OF CANDIDACY FOR ELECTION TO A BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF A SCHOOL DISTRICT IN ORANGEBURG COUNTY, SO AS TO CHANGE THE DATE FOR FILING AND SUBSTITUTE THE COUNTY ELECTION COMMISSION FOR THE BOARD OF EDUCATION AS WHERE THE STATEMENT OF CANDIDACY IS FILED.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:

SECTION 1. Section 1 of Act 254 of 1957, is amended to read:

"Section 1. Section 21-3709, Code of laws of South Carolina, 1952 is amended to read as follows:

`Section 21-3709. Any person desiring to offer for the position of trustee of any district shall file in writing with the county board of education election commission his intention to do so, not less than fifteen forty-five days nor more than forty-five sixty days before the time fixed in Section 21-3711 for the holding of the election for the positions.'"

SECTION 2. This act takes effect upon approval by the Governor.
