EXPRESSING THE SORROW OF THE MEMBERS OF THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY AT THE DEATH OF ERNEST "SON" TASTE OF ORANGEBURG COUNTY AND EXTENDING SYMPATHY TO HIS FAMILY AND MANY FRIENDS.
Whereas, Ernest "Son" Taste of Orangeburg County has died at the age of 68; and
Whereas, he was the son of the late Lawrence and Almeta Taste and was born in Holly Hill; and
Whereas, he was the founder and co-owner of Ernest Taste and Sons Garage in Eutawville and was retired from Holly Hill Lumber Company; and
Whereas, he was a member of Silas United Methodist Church where he served as a lay reader, church treasurer, and president of the male chorus and he was formerly a member of St. Paul's United Methodist Church where he also served as a lay reader; and
Whereas, he was a member of Eutawville Masonic Lodge No. 402, treasurer of NAACP in Eutawville, a member of the concerned citizens of District 94, a member of the South Carolina Law Enforcement Association, and a board member of the Holly Hill Rescue Squad; and
Whereas, he was an outstanding individual who was devoted to his family and deeply committed to his community, and he was respected by all who knew him and he will be greatly missed. Now, therefore,
Be it resolved by the Senate, the House of Representatives concurring: That the members of the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina, by this resolution, express their sorrow at the death of Ernest "Son" Taste of Orangeburg County and extend their sympathy to his family and many friends.
Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to Mrs. Lucille Taste, Eutawville, South Carolina.
