CONGRATULATING CHAD SKELTON OF DORCHESTER COUNTY ON ATTAINING THE RANK OF EAGLE SCOUT, THE HIGHEST RANK IN SCOUTING.
Whereas, Dennis Chandler Pinckney (Chad) Skelton of Dorchester County was honored on October 30, 1993, for attaining the rank of Eagle Scout during a Boy Scouts of America Eagle Court of Honor held at Parler Hall of St. George United Methodist Church in St. George; and
Whereas, Chad Skelton thereby became the first Eagle Scout in St. George in almost fifty years, and he is also the first member of his troop to be elected to the Order of the Arrow; and
Whereas, Chad serves as Senior Patrol Leader for BSA Troop 675, and he is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Dennis E. Skelton of the Indian Field Community; and
Whereas, Chad is a sophomore at St. George High School, is a member of "Who's Who Among American High School Students", and has been nominated to the Administrative Board of Indian Field United Methodist Church; and
Whereas, Chad is known as an outstanding student and an exceptional young man; and
Whereas, attaining the rank of Eagle Scout (the highest rank in scouting) is very difficult to do and reflects the outstanding character of the recipient of this prestigious award; and
Whereas, we are delighted to have the opportunity to recognize and congratulate Chad Skelton on this wonderful accomplishment. Now, therefore,
Be it resolved by the Senate, the House of Representatives concurring:
That the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina, by this resolution, congratulates Chad Skelton of Dorchester County on attaining the rank of Eagle Scout, the highest rank in scouting.
Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to Chad Skelton.
