TO EXPRESS THE DEEPEST SYMPATHY OF THE MEMBERS OF THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY TO THE FAMILY OF DR. WILLIAM HENRY GRANGER, SR., OF SWANSEA, ONE OF SOUTH CAROLINA'S MOST OUTSTANDING FAMILY PHYSICIANS, UPON HIS DEATH.
Whereas, the members of the General Assembly were deeply saddened to learn of the death this month of Dr. William Henry Granger, Sr., of Swansea at the age of fifty-nine; and
Whereas, Dr. Granger was a native of South Carolinian born in Olanta, graduated from The Citadel and the Medical University of South Carolina, and after interning at the Columbia Hospital, established his medical practice in Swansea; and
Whereas, he was one of South Carolina's most outstanding family physicians who earned the respect and devotion of his patients, friends, and colleagues not only for his technical and professional skills but for his care and concern for the well-being and health of his patients; and
Whereas, Dr. Granger served the Swansea community and Lexington County in a number of varied capacities including being president of Lexington County Medical Association, the Swansea High School team physician, for over twenty-five years as a member of the school board and as its chairman, and as a faithful member and officer of the Swansea Baptist Church; and
Whereas, with the death of this fine man, the people of Swansea, Lexington County, and the State of South Carolina have lost a capable and caring physician, a respected civic and community leader, and a good friend; and Whereas, the members of the General Assembly, by this resolution, would like to extend their sincere condolences to his wife, three sons, and other members of his family in this time of sorrow. Now, therefore,
Be it resolved by the Senate, the House of Representatives concurring:
That the members of the General Assembly express their deepest sympathy to the family of Dr. William Henry Granger, Sr., of Swansea, one of South Carolina's most outstanding family physicians, upon his death.
Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to his widow, Mrs. Ann Sharpe Granger.
