A SENATE RESOLUTION

TO COMMEND AND CONGRATULATE THE MEMBERS OF THE VARSITY CHEERLEADING SQUAD OF LEWISVILLE HIGH SCHOOL IN CHESTER COUNTY FOR THE MANY STATE, NATIONAL, AND INTERNATIONAL ACCOMPLISHMENTS THEY HAVE EARNED OVER THE PAST FOUR YEARS.

Whereas, the varsity cheerleaders of Lewisville High School in Chester County have earned the prestigious title of state cheerleading champions in the 1-A Division for the four consecutive years of 1990-91, 1991-92, 1992-93, and 1993-94; and

Whereas, the Lewisville High School cheerleaders have been the first runners-up in the Cheerwine Cheer-Off Competition for the two consecutive years of 1992-93 and 1993-94; and

Whereas, after having won second place in the Universal Cheerleaders Association and receiving a bid to the 1993 Nationals Competition the Lewisville squad continued their record of excellence by being ranked in the top third of the nation's squads; and

Whereas, the Lewisville High School cheerleaders were selected to represent the Southeast United States in Japan in international competition with over fifty squads from the United States and Japan in December 1993; and

Whereas, the many accolades and honors received by the Lewisville High cheerleaders and their incredible success is the result of their talent, hard work, dedication, and unity; and

Whereas, these true South Carolina champions and their many, many accomplishments are highly deserving of recognition, Now, therefore,

Be it resolved :

That the Senate of the State of South Carolina does commend and congratulate the members of the varsity cheerleading squad of Lewisville High School in Chester County for the many state, national, and international accomplishments they have earned over the past four years.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to the varsity cheerleading squad at Lewisville High School, in care of Ray N. Anderson, Principal.
