TO AMEND SECTION 40-35-10, AS AMENDED, CODE OF LAWS OF SOUTH CAROLINA, 1976, RELATING TO DEFINITIONS PERTAINING TO THE BOARD OF EXAMINERS FOR NURSING HOME ADMINISTRATORS AND COMMUNITY RESIDENTIAL CARE FACILITY ADMINISTRATORS, SO AS TO DEFINE "ACCREDITED COLLEGE OR UNIVERSITY" AND CHANGE THE BOARD NAME TO THE BOARD OF LONG TERM HEALTH CARE ADMINISTRATORS.
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:
SECTION 1. Section 40-35-10 of the 1976 Code, as last amended by Act 605 of 1990, is further amended by adding an appropriately numbered item to read:
"( ) `Accredited college or university' means a college or university whose accreditation is recognized by the Council on Postsecondary Accreditation and the United States Department of Education."
SECTION 2. Section 40-35-10(1) of the 1976 Code, as last amended by Act 605 of 1990, is further amended to read:
"(1) `Board' means the State South Carolina Board of Examiners for Nursing Home Long Term Health Care Administrators and Community Residential Care Facility Administrators."
SECTION 3. The South Carolina Code Commissioner shall change references in the 1976 Code to the "State Board of Examiners for Nursing Home Administrators and Community Residential Care Facility Administrators" to the "South Carolina Board of Long Term Health Care Administrators".
SECTION 4. This act takes effect upon approval by the Governor.
