A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION

CONGRATULATING THE GREEN HORNETS OF AIKEN HIGH SCHOOL ON WINNING THE 1992 CLASS AAAA DIVISION II STATE FOOTBALL CHAMPIONSHIP.

Whereas, the Green Hornets of Aiken High School won the 1992 Class AAAA Division II state football championship on December 5, 1992, by defeating an outstanding Hartsville High team 21-14 at Williams-Brice Stadium in Columbia; and

Whereas, the Green Hornets finished the 1992 campaign with a superb 13-2 record, including the state crown; and

Whereas, The Aiken High football team players, whose head coach is Doug Painter, and his coaching staff exhibited tremendous talent, hard work, and unity throughout the season and are richly deserving of recognition. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives, the Senate concurring:

That the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina, by this resolution, congratulates the Green Hornets of Aiken High School on winning the 1992 Class AAAA Division II state football championship.
