TO AMEND THE CODE OF LAWS OF SOUTH CAROLINA, 1976, BY ADDING SECTION 39-5-36 SO AS TO REQUIRE A PRIME CONTRACTOR FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF ANY TYPE PROJECT TO BE BONDED FOR THE AMOUNT OF THE CONTRACT.
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:
SECTION 1. The 1976 Code is amended by adding:
"Section 39-5-36. A prime contractor shall furnish to the person for whom he is obligated to construct any type of project a surety bond guaranteeing the satisfactory completion of the project in the exact amount of the compensation he is to receive for the construction."
SECTION 2. This act takes effect upon approval by the Governor.
