TO AMEND THE CODE OF LAWS OF SOUTH CAROLINA, 1976, BY ADDING SECTION 8-15-20 SO AS TO PROVIDE THAT A STATE EMPLOYEE WHOSE ANNUAL COMPENSATION IS IN EXCESS OF EIGHTY THOUSAND DOLLARS MAY NOT RECEIVE SUPPLEMENTAL EMPLOYMENT OR INCOME FROM SOURCES OUTSIDE THE STATE AGENCY PRIMARILY EMPLOYING HIM WHEN THE SUPPLEMENTAL INCOME IS DERIVED FROM THE STATE AND TO PROVIDE EXCEPTIONS.
Amend Title To Conform
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:
SECTION 1. Article 1, Chapter 11, Title 8 of the 1976 Code is amended by adding:
"Section 8-11-170. No agency head may be dually employed by another state agency or institution of higher education without prior approval by the Agency Head Salary Commission and the State Budget and Control Board."
SECTION 2. This act takes effect July 1, 1993.
