A HOUSE RESOLUTION

CONGRATULATING THE THORNWELL HIGH SCHOOL SAINTS OF LAURENS COUNTY ON WINNING THE 1993 CLASS AA STATE CHAMPIONSHIP IN BOYS BASKETBALL IN THE SOUTH CAROLINA INDEPENDENT SCHOOLS ATHLETIC ASSOCIATION.

Whereas, the Thornwell High School Saints of Laurens County have won the 1993 Class AA state championship in boys basketball in the South Carolina Independent Schools Athletic Association; and

Whereas, Thornwell also captured the 1992 state crown; and

Whereas, coached by Danny Orr, the Saints defeated Catawba 41-29 in the 1993 title game to finish the season with a superb 25-3 record; and

Whereas, the Saints demonstrated outstanding talent, hard work, determination, and unity throughout the 1992-93 season and are highly deserving of recognition for their accomplishments. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives:

That the House of Representatives of the State of South Carolina, by this resolution, congratulates the Thornwell High School Saints of Laurens County on winning the 1993 Class AA state championship in boys basketball in the South Carolina Independent Schools Athletic Association.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to the Thornwell High School boys basketball team and Coach Danny Orr.
