A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION

TO CONGRATULATE COACH RUSS BERGMAN FOR HIS OUTSTANDING COACHING ABILITIES IN LEADING THE COASTAL CAROLINA COLLEGE BASKETBALL TEAM TO NATIONAL ATHLETIC RECOGNITION.

Whereas, the members of the General Assembly are very pleased to learn that Coach Russ Bergman has once again brought national attention to Coastal Carolina College; and

Whereas, Coach Bergman's outstanding coaching abilities have guided the men's basketball team to 22 wins this season, which was the third most wins in a single season in Coastal Carolina history; and

Whereas, Coach Bergman's Chanticleers have compiled winning seasons in ll of his l8 seasons, posting a winning record of .500 or better in five of the last six seasons; and

Whereas, Coach Bergman is the "Winningest Coach in Big South History", having received recognition three times as "Big South Coach of the Year"; and

Whereas Coach Bergman is to be commended for encouraging his young players to be achievers posting 20 plus wins in seven seasons with 20 plus wins in two of the last three seasons earning the Chanticleers two trips to the NCAA Tournament in the last three years. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives, the Senate concurring:

That the members of the General Assembly hereby congratulate Coach Russ Bergman for his outstanding coaching abilities in bringing national recognition to men's basketball at Coastal Carolina College.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to Coach Russ Bergman and Chancellor Ronald G. Eaglin of Coastal Carolina College.
