A JOINT RESOLUTION TO PROVIDE THAT INDIVIDUALS RESIDING IN CERTAIN RESIDENTIAL CARE FACILITIES MAY QUALIFY FOR A SUPPLEMENT UNDER THE DEPARTMENT OF SOCIAL SERVICES GENERAL ASSISTANCE PROGRAM IF THEY OTHERWISE QUALIFY OR QUALIFY EXCEPT FOR INCOME LIMITATIONS OR BECAUSE OF RESIDING IN A FACILITY FUNDED BY A GOVERNMENTAL ENTITY.
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:
Optional supplement qualification requirements
SECTION 1. From the funds appropriated to the Department of Social Services for General Assistance, the department shall supplement the income of an individual who resides in a licensed residential care facility that has an approved Optional Supplement Request with the department. To receive the optional supplement from the department an individual who resides in a residential care facility with an approved Optional Supplement Request must qualify as aged, blind, or disabled under the definitions of Public Law 92-603 or must qualify except for income limitations or the fact that the facility in which the person resides is funded by a county or municipal government entity.
Time effective
SECTION 2. This joint resolution takes effect upon approval by the Governor and is effective from July 1, 1992, through June 30, 1993.
