TO AMEND THE CODE OF LAWS OF SOUTH CAROLINA, 1976, BY ADDING SECTION 59-24-60 SO AS TO PROVIDE THAT THE STATE BOARD OF EDUCATION MAY NOT PROMULGATE REGULATIONS TO REQUIRE THAT PRINCIPALS MUST BE PAID MORE THAN EMPLOYEES OF THE SCHOOL.
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:
SECTION 1. The 1976 Code is amended by adding:
"Section 59-24-60. The State Board of Education may not promulgate regulations to require that the contracted salary paid to the principal of a school must be at a higher rate than that paid to a member of the faculty or staff of his school."
SECTION 2. This act takes effect upon approval by the Governor.
