TO AMEND THE CODE OF LAWS OF SOUTH CAROLINA, 1976, BY ADDING SECTION 58-31-35 SO AS TO PROVIDE THAT ELECTRICITY RATES AND CHARGES OF THE SOUTH CAROLINA PUBLIC SERVICE AUTHORITY ARE SUBJECT TO REGULATION BY THE PUBLIC SERVICE COMMISSION.
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:
SECTION 1. Chapter 31 of Title 58 of the 1976 Code is amended by adding:
"Section 58-31-35. Notwithstanding any other provision of law, electric rates and charges of the authority are subject to regulation by the South Carolina Public Service Authority pursuant to the provisions of Article 7, Chapter 27 of this title."
SECTION 2. This act takes effect upon approval by the Governor.
