A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION

TO CONGRATULATE THE MAULDIN HIGH SCHOOL BOYS BASEBALL TEAM FOR WINNING THE 1993 STATE CLASS AAAA BASEBALL CHAMPIONSHIP.

Whereas, the members of the General Assembly have learned that the Mauldin High School Boys Baseball Team recently defeated a fine Sumter team two games to none in a best of three series to win the 1993 State Class AAAA Baseball Championship; and

Whereas, this championship concluded a truly magnificent season for the Mavericks, who, after losing their first two games, won their last thirty games in a row to finish the season with an outstanding 30-2 won-lost record; and

Whereas, the Mavericks were ably led throughout the year by Coach Dave Delgado and this championship was especially meaningful to him because he lost his mother in November, 1992, and he dedicated the 1993 season to her; and

Whereas, the accomplishments of the Mauldin boys both on and off the field this season have brought deserved credit not only upon the team and its coaching staff but upon their school, city, and county as well; and

Whereas, the members of the General Assembly, by this resolution, would like to congratulate this talented group of young men and their very capable coaches upon the occasion of their winning this truly deserved championship. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives, the Senate concurring:

That the members of the General Assembly hereby congratulate the Mauldin High School Boys Baseball Team for winning the 1993 State Class AAAA Baseball Championship.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to Coach Delgado and the principal of Mauldin High School.
