TO AMEND SECTION 20-7-600, AS AMENDED, CODE OF LAWS OF SOUTH CAROLINA, 1976, RELATING TO JUVENILE CUSTODY, DETENTION, AND RELEASE, SO AS TO PROVIDE THAT A JUVENILE MAY BE ELIGIBLE FOR DETENTION IN A SECURE JUVENILE DETENTION FACILITY IF HE IS CHARGED WITH CRIMINAL DOMESTIC VIOLENCE.
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:
SECTION 1. Section 20-7-600(F)(1), as last amended by Act 181 of 1993, is further amended to read:
"(1) is charged with criminal domestic violence as defined in Section 16-25-20 or a violent crime as defined in Sectin 16-1-60;"
SECTION 2. This act takes effect upon approval by the Governor.
