A BILL

TO AMEND SECTION 56-3-1010, CODE OF LAWS OF SOUTH CAROLINA, 1976, RELATING TO VEHICLE WEIGHT LIMITS FOR REGISTRATION AND LICENSING OF CORPORATE-OWNED FLEET MOTOR VEHICLES, SO AS TO INCREASE THE VEHICLE WEIGHT LIMITS.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:

SECTION 1. Section 56-3-1010(1) of the 1976 Code, as added by Section 90, Part II, Act 164 of 1993, is amended to read:

"(1) `Fleet' means two hundred or more marked passenger vehicles or property carrying vehicles with empty weight of not more than five twenty-two thousand pounds and a gross vehicle weight of not more than eight twenty-six thousand pounds, owned or long-term leased by a corporation or other legal entity, and registered in this State pursuant to this article."

SECTION 2. This act takes effect upon approval by the Governor.
